At Ryhill Junior, Infant & Nursery School, we are committed to maintaining high standards and expect all our staff to share this dedication. We are looking for a hardworking, efficient, and self-motivated individual to join our friendly office team. The Senior Administrative Officer plays a vital role in the effective day-to-day communication and administration of the school, ensuring that everything runs smoothly in a busy school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake administrative, financial, organisational processes within the school
  • Manage and lead a small administrative team
  • Provide comprehensive and efficient administrative support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team
  • Ensure effective and high-quality communication both within the school and externally
  • Support the school’s day-to-day administrative tasks, ensuring all deadlines and standards are met
  • Maintain the welfare of children and school staff, ensuring all records and documentation are up to date

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a positive, highly organised person keen to grow their skill set and work closely with the School Business Manager
  • Has NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification e.g. I.L.M. Certificate of First Line Management (Introductory Course) or experience in relevant discipline
  • Is happy, friendly and welcoming to all
  • Appreciates the need to maintain strictest confidence
  • Has excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Is trustworthy, flexible, and self-motivated
  • Has the ability to work quickly, calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Possesses strong communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels
  • Has experience in school administration (desirable but not essential)
  • Will work with high levels of accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail
  • Is flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task
  • Is able to manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines
  • Is able to develop positive working relationships, working collaboratively and effectively with all colleagues
  • Has excellent written and good numeracy skills
  • Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Ideally has experience with school-based systems such as Integris/Arbor and Unit4
  • Is able to organise ‘hospitality’ for meetings, Governors and training days.
