The Finance team is a central pillar of our growth strategy, and we are looking for an India Tax and Compliance Manager to oversee the compliance and reporting of our India operations.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant - Global Finance to lead and oversee the compliance activities for our India entity. This role requires a strong understanding of Indian tax laws, including direct and indirect taxes, as well as the ability to work effectively with company service providers to ensure timely and accurate filings. The India Tax and Compliance Manager will also be responsible for managing financial reporting, payroll, and financial statement preparation in line with Indian Accounting Standards (IAS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Tax Compliance:
- Lead and coordinate with company service providers for Withholding Tax compliance on salary and non-salary payments.
- Oversee Corporate Tax Compliance including the payment of advance taxes, filing of corporate tax returns, and any other relevant filings.
- Indirect Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST) for the India entity, including the filing of monthly GST returns.
- Manage and support the preparation and submission of GST refund applications.
- Oversee E-invoicing compliance for the India entity to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
- Operational Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Oversee bank reconciliations and month end close process
- Payroll review
- Liaising with 3rd party outsourcers for preparation of financial statements for the India entity in compliance with local IAS.
- Audit support
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including legal teams, auditors, and financial consultants, to ensure all compliance requirements are met.
- Provide timely insights and support to the senior management team for strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CA) is preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in tax, compliance, and financial reporting. 2 years in a managerial role is ideal.
- Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws, GST, FEMA, and transfer pricing regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal teams and external service providers effectively. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work cross-functionally with finance teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
₹857,824 - ₹2,573,472
Salary is based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
