Job description

To support all of the exciting work we pride ourselves in having strong corporate functions. The Finance Team is at the heart of the organisation, playing a vital role in achieving this, and we're now looking for 2 individuals to join our Team as Senior Accountants, specifically supporting our Corporate Finance and technical accounting.


The Role

The posts will support the delivery of the Councils statutory financial statements, Treasury Management, manage the fixed asset register and provide technical accounting and taxation advice to the Council. It will involve working closely with strategic finance professionals and the external auditor and will maximise the benefit of the Unit4 system.


About you

To apply for this post, you must be AAT qualified or part CCAB qualified, in addition you must also have experience to:

  • Apply technical skills and knowledge required to and demonstrate a business like approach to the role.
  • Effectively prioritise and manage multiple demands with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach and a persistence and resourcefulness to get things done.
  • Resolve financial problems, particularly efficiency, with sound workable solutions.
  • Develop effective working relationships with senior and operational managers within service departments and other finance professionals.
  • Communicate technical financial information to non-finance specialists in an easily understandable way, both in written form, presentations and face to face.
  • Identify and support the implementation of improvements in finance processes and reporting.
