Job description

TPF Recruitment is supporting a long-standing and respected independent accountancy firm in their search for an experienced Senior Accountant. This newly created role is designed to support one of the firm’s partners by taking ownership of key client work, allowing them to focus on the strategic running of the business.

You’ll be joining a well-established team with a loyal client base, and this position offers a great mix of autonomy, client contact, and technical variety. It’s an excellent opportunity for a proactive and confident individual with strong practice experience who enjoys building client relationships and delivering high-quality service.

The Role:
  • Work directly under one of the firm's partners, supporting them with day-to-day client work
  • Prepare and review accounts and tax returns for a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships, and smaller limited companies
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining excellent relationships and delivering professional advice
  • Liaise with HMRC and other external bodies as required
  • Supervise and support junior team members as needed
  • Ensure compliance deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or QBE with strong experience in practice)
  • Significant experience in a UK accountancy practice environment
  • Proven ability to prepare and review accounts and tax work for small businesses
  • Strong client-facing skills with the confidence to manage relationships directly
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage a varied workload
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to work
