SEND Teaching Assistant Barnsley Supply May 2024 for the rest of the summer term.

SEND Teaching Assistant Barnsley Supply May 2024 Long Term Contract starting ASAP with an ongoing need to support in Education and training across South Yorkshire, specifically Barnsley. We pride ourselves on supporting schools with education and training across Barnsley.

Academics LTD are eager to recruit a TA with experience of working in SEN settings/provisions, specifically experience in autism & Primary. We are also looking for a TA who has previous experience of supporting non-verbal students and helping with speech and language barriers. Candidates need to be patient and calm with a strong understanding of breaking down barriers to learning and de-escalation strategies.

The role involves supporting students with social, emotional & behavioral difficulties, predominantly pupils on the autistic spectrum and with EBD but within a mainstream setting. This role could involve working as a classroom assistant, on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis.

1. Primary, SEND or PRU experience helpful.
2. SEN experience preferred and relevant qualifications for TA roles; graduates are also welcomed as this school has embraced growing their own future teachers and offers a 2-year TA to teacher plan for suitable candidates.
3. The role involves ensuring the work set is differentiated accordingly, helping to meet individual student needs.
4. This is for a full-time long-term SEN role for at least a term to start ASAP, with the opportunity for permanent posts in the future if desired.
5. Experience & knowledge of working with pupils on P Scales is desirable.
