GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a school based in Hull. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about inclusive education and have experience working with young people who require additional support.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of SEND needs.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to student requirements.
  • Support students with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
  • Create a nurturing and positive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and progress.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or physical disabilities.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students who require additional support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage students and liaise with staff.
  • A willingness to adapt to different classroom settings and tailor support accordingly.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
