Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 Annually (MPS/UPS)

About The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality education and support to students with varying degrees of SEND, ranging from severe to moderate or complex learning needs. You will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student, while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.


Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students with SEND.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants and support staff, to ensure the holistic well-being of students.
  • Implement and adapt curriculum frameworks to meet the specific needs and goals outlined in students' Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Utilise a range of assessment strategies to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and partnership.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement, behaviour, and progress, adhering to school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and stay abreast of best practices in special education.

Qualifications And Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience working with students with SEND is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of differentiating instruction and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards inclusive education.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
