Job description

Job Title: SEND Lecturer

Reports To: Deputy Head of College
Location: Bromley

We are working with a fantastic SEN college that is seeking a dedicated SEND Lecturer to deliver high-quality education and support to their students. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.

This college supports young adults aged 19 to 25 years old who have PMLD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Assess and report on student progress, ensuring alignment with personal learning goals and EHCP outcomes.
  • Manage a team of support assistants, working closely with therapists and other professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Actively participate in performance management, staff meetings, and professional development.
  • Ensure a commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students.
  • Promote inclusion, equality, and diversity within the College.
  • Lead by example and serve as a positive role model for both students and colleagues.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across various disciplines.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and assessment.
  • Experience working with students with additional learning needs (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding young people.
