Job description

Axcis Education are looking for a SEND Intervention Tutor to work on Outreach with pupils aged 11-19 of all abilities, within a range of educational programmes across an alternative SEND school in Torbay. Pupils who attend have diagnosed or undiagnosed SEND barriers, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 8.45-4.45pm. For this permanent position, the annual salary will be between £20,500-£25,500, depending on your previous tutoring/mentoring experience. You must have a full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle for this position. This would be a fantastic position for any Higher Level Teaching Assistants, TEFL tutors or experienced SEND Teaching Assistants.

The school implements the thrive approach to support the emotional and social development of all pupils and have licensed practitioners at the school. Pupils are carefully assessed to allow the college to understand their readiness and ability to engage in learning. A personalised learning programme is formed from the assessment, and emotional development is carefully tracked each term. Depending on their age, pupils engage with a broad curriculum, or work towards obtaining GCSEs, functioning skills qualifications (level 1 and 2), or BTEC qualifications.

Requirements:
  1. Fantastic relationship building techniques.
  2. Good understanding of Numeracy and English.
  3. Previous SEND experience with children and/or adults.
  4. Effective strategies to support dysregulated pupils.
  5. Safeguarding Level 2, or equivalent, understanding.
