SEN Tutor

We are seeking a Tutor for a Year 9 girl who has ASD in the Corby area of NN18. This young person engages in learning at home with close support and continues to be working at expected levels (except for Maths, where she is working above expected levels, i.e. within the Year 6 curriculum).

The YP presents with a high level of anxiety and significant mental health needs. She experienced extreme levels of anxiety associated with school attendance prior to being electively home educated.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored teaching and support to students, planning and preparing lessons.
• Work with students with a range of needs, including SEMH and SEN, to support their educational progress.
• Devise a tailored plan with the student to help support their needs, focusing on core subjects.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience teaching children, ideally in special educational settings or with students who have SEMH/SEN needs.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to support the individual needs of students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with students, parents, and other professionals.
• A minimum commitment of 5 hours of teaching during the school day, across 3 days.
