Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Stockport is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in SEN support or a psychology/education-related background looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.
Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students with additional learning needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons by differentiating materials to meet individual student needs.
Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies, fostering a positive learning environment.
Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to develop and implement effective learning strategies and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Encourage students to build confidence, independence, and social skills in the classroom and school environment.
Experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential).
A background in psychology, education, social work, or a related field is advantageous.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
A proactive, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting student learning and well-being.
An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
