SEN Teaching Assistant - Carterton - ASAP Start

Complex Needs SEN TA in Mainstream School

£89 - £95 per day dependent on experience

An excellent Mainstream Primary School based in Carterton is looking for a SEN teaching assistant to join them ASAP. This is an opportunity to work with a group of SEN children with either or a combination of Autism, ADHD and social/emotional mental health issues. A one-year contract is on offer, and the school requires someone with experience in and understanding of a challenging but rewarding SEN teaching assistant position like this.

The Primary school would like to meet candidates who have a degree or level 3 and who have some experience working with Special Educational Needs e.g. Autism, ADHD, dyslexia. This role will entail a variety of responsibilities and will offer excellent experience for the teaching assistant appointed. Minimum standards will include Maths and English at GCSE graded C or above.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support SEN children within each class, addressing individual needs.
  2. Work with children with ADHD, ASD, global delay, SEMH, physical and behavioural challenges.
  3. Utilize effective behaviour management strategies to monitor and diffuse difficult situations.

This is a fantastic platform for aspiring teachers to gain valuable experience in preparation for completing their teacher training the following year. This is a teacher training school, meaning that successful TAs can consequently be enrolled on to the School's Direct Teacher Training Programme.
