An established industry player is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for immediate supply positions in a lovely school. The role involves supporting children with varying needs, including ASD and behavioral issues, in a nurturing environment. With excellent facilities and small class sizes, this position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in students' lives. Ideal candidates will possess a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant degree and a passion for working with SEND children. Join a supportive team that values flexibility and continuous learning in your career development.
SEN Teaching Assistants are needed for immediate supply positions for a lovely SEN school we work with in the North Tyneside area. We have positions in this school with children with needs ranging from ASD, MLD, behavioural issues and PMLD/complex needs. Ages of pupils range from Nursery through to 6th form. Roles could vary from whole class supporting roles or providing one-to-one support to pupils with SEND.
The school has two sites close together and you may be asked to move between them over a week wherever support is needed most. Facilities are excellent, including a hydrotherapy pool on site and class sizes are very small.
Experience in supporting children with any of the above needs would be an advantage but is not essential - a willingness to learn and engage with SEN children is the most important quality we are looking for.
Ideally, you will hold a level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above, but other qualifications such as a degree in Psychology or Education Studies are also acceptable. Posts vary from short term to long term, but we require staff that are flexible and willing to learn from experienced staff at the school.
Please note that the rate of pay is dependent on the level of experience and qualifications achieved.
