Here at Teaching Personnel, our client schools in St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Luton, Welwyn Garden City, Redbourn and surrounding areas of Hertfordshire are always looking for supply staff that they can rely on, trust, and support their students day-to-day.

You would be supporting many of our SEN client schools on an ad-hoc basis, which can include short and long-term sickness cover, planned absences cover, and general staff shortages.

The expectations of each working day would be to provide support from 8:30am - 3:30pm.

Candidates can work 1 - 5 days a week, whatever works for you!

The role and responsibilities of a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with Senior Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Teachers to prepare resources that meet the individual learning objectives of assigned students.
  • Provide 1:1 support, under the supervision of the class Teacher, for skills-based learning.
  • Track and report on student progress using evidence-based methods, in collaboration with the class Teacher.
  • Facilitate student learning by understanding their goals and targets, encouraging the practice of new skills, and promoting independence.
  • Provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being and engagement of students in learning.
  • Provide support for all students across the school.
  • Provide personal care and support with physical interventions when required; for students with physical disabilities.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
