Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive school in SE London. This full-time role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
2. Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to suit the learning styles of SEN students.
3. Promote an inclusive learning environment, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
4. Help students develop social skills and manage their behavior in accordance with school policies.
5. Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to monitor and record students' progress.
6. Support students with personal care needs as required.
7. Engage with parents and guardians to provide regular updates on student progress and collaborate on effective strategies for support.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is essential.
2. A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable.
3. Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of SEN students.
6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
