Job description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Dartford
Pay: £88 - £110 per day (via PAYE)

Vision for Education are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and vibrant primary school in Dartford. This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a difference in their learning journey.


As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to children with a variety of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and ensure they can achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to create an inclusive environment, where every child is supported and encouraged.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in delivering tailored support for students with special educational needs.
  2. Work with small groups or individual students, providing focused interventions to support their learning.
  3. Help implement learning strategies and use a variety of resources to aid the children's understanding.
  4. Support the class teacher in planning and preparing learning activities.
  5. Assist in managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive, safe environment for all students.
  6. Liaise with the SENCO and other staff to ensure the needs of the children are met.
  7. Support the social, emotional, and mental health of students as needed.

Key Requirements:
  1. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a primary school setting.
  2. A passion for working with children and helping them achieve their potential.
  3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  4. A relevant qualification in SEN or education (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
  5. A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
