Job description

Job Title: SEN Teacher
Pay Rate: £142.31 - £193.63 per day
Location: Kitts Green
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to support students aged 5 to 19 years with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Job Requirements:

  • A valid Child or Child and Adult Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
  • A recognised Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 6 months experience working in a school or similar SEN setting
  • Experience working with children or young people with ASD, MLD, and SEMH needs
  • Ability to differentiate teaching methods to support individual student needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting diverse learning styles
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff

Your Role: As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and tailored lessons to students with ASD, MLD, and SEMH. You will work closely with the SENCO and support staff to implement individual learning plans, ensuring each student has the resources and support they need to succeed. You will also manage and support students with challenging behaviours, provide pastoral care, and work to develop their academic and social skills. Personal care may be part of the role, all within a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
