Job description

A ‘good’ SEND school with ‘outstanding’ teaching and learning in Carlisle is looking for a Supply Teacher to join their fun and friendly team.

Delivery: Classroom teaching of two small supported learning groups (with learning support workers). Teaching 'Independent Living' most closely aligned to PSHE. There are two groups, each with fewer than 10 learners. Work can be provided.

The main duties will include:

  • Supporting the pupils in their education through the national curriculum and individualised learning plans
  • Teaching and managing the behaviour of up to 10 pupils
  • Working with a teaching assistant to implement interventions
  • Planning and delivering creative and innovative lessons
  • Using formative and summative assessment
  • Promoting independence with life skills
  • Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be available for work Monday to Friday
  • Hold a degree and QTS
  • ECTs are welcome to apply
  • Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
  • Have a full checkable work history
