SEN Teacher

TLTP are recruiting for a PMLD, complex needs Teacher to teach in a specialist college in Swiss Cottage.

This will involve teaching Entry level / functional skills level 1, low level post 19 life skills.

This specialist college is a centre of excellence for post 16 with complex needs, PMLD or ASD and/or additional needs. Situated in Waltham Forest, they are a small, inclusive school catering for a range of SEN needs.

This college specializes in supporting pupils through a personalised curriculum, appropriate support, and harnessing the very latest technology. They don't just help our pupils access the curriculum; they bring it alive for them.

As a result, their pupils thrive; they achieve a variety of qualifications and develop into confident, articulate, and ambitious young adults who are curious to further their knowledge and stretch themselves.

You will need to have QTS or QTLS and some SEN experience ideally.

The teacher will be responsible for the progress of all pupils in their specialism and for coordinating the work of a team of SEN TAs, providing required direct teaching time to meet the needs of the class groups and pupils.

To look at our pupils holistically and to draw on a wide range of social care and teaching strategies to meet pupil needs whilst promoting interest and ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils.

Delivering lessons that are pupil-focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable.

Provide opportunities for pupils to experience/understand English subjects in a range of contexts.

Teachers must have:

1. Commitment to the development of both yourself and the pupils in your class.
2. QTS or QTLS.
3. Ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning alongside a multi-disciplinary classroom team.
4. Experience of taking the lead in your subject area with clear ideas for achieving exceptional progress for students.
5. Ability to ensure that your pupils fulfill their potential and have ambitious expectations of them.
6. Calm demeanor to maintain a sense of humor under pressure.
7. Understanding and commitment to safeguarding children.
