GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive and inclusive school community in Canterbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing them with the guidance and support to thrive both academically and personally. Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons that keep students motivated and focused.
  • Support students with SEN needs, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Work with individual students and small groups who require extra help and guidance.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere where every student feels valued.
  • Help maintain an organised classroom, manage student behaviour, and assist with lesson preparation.

Criteria for Applicants:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally supporting students with SEMH or other SEN needs.
  • A strong passion for supporting students in their educational journey.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers and students.
  • The ability to adapt support to meet the individual learning needs of each student.
  • An up-to-date CV (covering the last decade with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
