Job description

Are you looking for an exciting role in Education?


We are currently seeking multiple full-time/permanent Learning Support Assistants for a lovely autism specialist School located in Horsham.


Due to a recent expansion, this excellent provision requires enthusiastic, dedicated and energetic individuals to provide 1:1 and small group classroom support for Primary and Secondary aged Pupils with ASC and associated learning needs.


The school is extremely ambitious, and the curriculum aims to help pupils achieve GCSE-level qualifications in a range of subjects. Their excellent team of staff and modern facilities, which include music equipment, indoor/outdoor sports facilities, art and design studios, and forest school, make the provision an excellent hub for pupil and staff development.

Day to day, you will:

  1. Assist pupils' academic, social, and emotional development in a range of classes and activities.
  2. Provide 1:1 and small group support, playing a key part in identifying any obstacles preventing pupils from learning or obtaining a high level of well-being.
  3. Be a positive role model for learners, always setting a good example and providing pastoral care when needed.
  4. Always adhere to the school’s behaviour and safeguarding protocols.
  5. Engage, bond, and form strong professional relationships with pupils.

While experience is highly advantageous, applications from individuals with a bright, charismatic and enthusiastic personality with a passion for supporting others are welcome.


We have placed individuals with experience in:


Care/support work, sports coaching, nurseries, mainstream school settings, creative industries (music, art, dance, etc.), emergency services, and tutoring/TEFL who have gone on to be very successful within the role. Additional Info/Requirements:

  1. Salary: £21,020 per annum, paid 52 weeks per year – Full pay over all half terms and holidays!
  2. Hours: 8:30 – 16:30, Mon – Fri (term time only)
  3. Location: Horsham, West Sussex *The School has bad public transport links, owning a car or a reliable lift into the school is required*
  4. Child only DBS: registered to the update service required (or willing to apply)
