Salary Scale: £31,650 to £49,084 per annum

Start Date: September 2025

About the Role:

GSL Education are actively seeking an SEN English Teacher for a placement at a school in Fareham. The school caters to students who face complex learning challenges, often coupled with conditions like autism, speech and communication disorders, and various medical issues. As a SEN English Teacher, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Plan and execute engaging and creative lessons for secondary students, tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Demonstrate positive behaviour and serve as a role model for students, effectively managing challenging behaviours when they arise
  • Offer one-to-one or small group support for students with special educational needs, facilitating their access to the curriculum
  • Conduct small group interventions to reinforce learning goals effectively
  • Assist in maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and managing behaviours
  • Employ strategies for equitable access to education for students with additional needs

Requirements for the SEN English Teacher role:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEN
  • Possess a recognised Teaching qualification in the UK or have relevant experience
  • Experience teaching English
  • Energetic and patient with strong classroom management skills
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • A full checkable work history
