Job description

Are you an experienced teacher looking to make a difference to the lives of SEMH pupils?

TP Tutors work with a variety of Local Authorities and help provide tutors to pupils who are both out of education, and who are needing a boost in school.

We are looking for experienced Maths and English Tutor to work with KS3 and KS4 students on a 1:1 basis in a variety of settings such as family hubs, schools, residential homes, libraries etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and teach maths and/or english lessons that engage and support students.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of each student.
  • Prepare resources to aid your planned lessons.
  • Monitor students' progress and provide feedback using TP Tutors bespoke reporting platform.
  • Build positive relationships with students and support their academic and personal growth.
  • Work with other staff to help students overcome challenges and really build your rapport.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience teaching Maths and/or English to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, using the UK National Curriculum.
  • Ability to support students with different learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate students.
  • A teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE).
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for teaching.
Desirable:
  • Confidence around EHCPs.
  • Experience working in alternative provision or with students facing additional challenges.
  • Knowledge of how to manage behaviour effectively.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND and SEMH.
