Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £88.84 - £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) to support students aged 11-16 in a school in Scunthorpe. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and a passion for helping students succeed both academically and personally.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in providing tailored support to students, ensuring they feel safe, confident, and encouraged in their learning journey. You will help students overcome challenges, build important life skills, and thrive in a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Your Role:

  1. Provide support to students with SEMH needs in the classroom and during other school activities.
  2. Collaborate closely with teachers to maintain an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  3. Assist students with their academic tasks, helping them stay focused and motivated.
  4. Offer one-on-one or small group support to meet the individual needs of students.
  5. Promote emotional and social development, helping students build confidence, independence, and resilience.

What You Need:

  1. Experience supporting students with SEMH needs in a school or similar setting.
  2. A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students.
  3. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and students.
  4. The ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.
  5. A strong commitment to safeguarding and ensuring student well-being.
  6. An up-to-date CV (covering the past ten years, excluding any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
