Location: Lambeth, near Stockwell Station
Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant - Year 2
Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: March 24th, 2025

Are you an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference? A welcoming primary school in Lambeth is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 student with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

SEMH Teaching Assistant - Role Overview:

1. Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 student with SEMH needs.
2. Assist in managing emotions, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
3. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
4. Create a positive and structured learning environment.
5. Encourage social development and emotional well-being.

What We're Looking For:

1. Previous experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
2. Strong understanding of supporting children with SEMH and additional needs.
3. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
4. Ability to de-escalate challenging behaviour and build positive relationships.
5. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
