Exciting Opportunity for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant with a Focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant, specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), to join a fantastic primary school in Wavertree (L15). This is a long-term position starting after Easter and continuing for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential to go permanent. The school is seeking a committed support staff member to provide individualised assistance to a reception class pupil who requires both academic and social support.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience working with SEN pupils and a strong understanding of effective de-escalation techniques. The specific pupil in question follows a personalised education plan tailored to their SEMH needs, highlighting the school’s high regard for prior experience in delivering regular updates and progress reports.

This role operates from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm and offers the added benefit of being part of a highly regarded school community. The school, which holds a positive Ofsted rating and has been consistently oversubscribed for several years, takes pride in maintaining exemplary pupil behaviour.
