Pay Per Assessment:

£120 - Pre-Retrofit Assessment

£190 - Full Retrofit Assessment

+£50 - Solar PV Technical Survey Add-On

We're hiring Retrofit Assessors with proven solar surveying experience to support a national programme of home energy efficiency improvements, including solar PV system assessments. If you're an experienced, RA-qualified energy assessor with your own vehicle, borescope, and tablet - we want to hear from you.

Role Overview:

As a self-employed Retrofit Assessor, you'll carry out energy performance surveys and PAS 2035 retrofit assessments across domestic properties. For homes where solar PV is an option, you'll complete a technical solar survey to assess feasibility and installation requirements. You'll typically complete 2-3 scheduled assessments per day, within your preferred region or nationally.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct Pre-Retrofit Assessments to PAS 2035 standards
2. Complete full Whole House Retrofit Assessments
3. Carry out Solar PV Technical Surveys (roof pitch, orientation, structure, electrical setup)
4. Upload survey data via tablet using approved digital tools
5. Liaise with scheduling teams and maintain high standards of customer service

What You'll Need:

1. Retrofit Assessor Qualification (RA trained) - essential
2. Experience with solar PV surveys (ideally) - confident in technical requirements
3. Your own vehicle - with full UK driving licence
4. Own equipment - borescope + tablet (for digital survey submissions)
5. Strong knowledge of EPCs, building fabric, and energy-saving measures
6. Ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively

Pay & Schedule

1. Pre-Retrofit Assessment: £120 per completed survey
2. Full Retrofit Assessment with Solar Survey: £190 + £50 solar add-on
3. Expected volume: 2-3 completed surveys per day
4. Paid weekly
