Role Scope:
Consortio Security are looking to recruit 1 competent Relief Security Officer to join our successful team at a Logistics and Distribution site in Stowmarket, supporting a team of 9 Core Officers. The successful candidate will have first refusal on all holidays, illness, and compassionate shifts as well as any ad-hoc shifts that are assigned to us.
The successful candidate should be confident in undertaking separate roles and responsibilities as part of a team or by themselves.
To be considered for this role you must hold an active SIA License be it Close Protection, Door Supervisor or Security Guard. You must have an in date First Aid Qualification and have high levels of Customer Service skills as the role involves working with employees, client employees and site contractors. Preferably you will also have previous Logistical or Distribution experience.
If you have a can-do attitude and a will to succeed you will be successful in the recruitment process and the subsequent role. If you lack people skills or struggle to communicate, please do not apply for this role.
This role would suit someone who is flexible, able to think on their feet, who is able to constantly prioritise tasks ensuring that the most critical issues are dealt with first and foremost. You must be happy to be busy and pro-active whilst at work, anyone who wants a role where they are sat down for long periods of time should NOT apply. Anyone applying must be comfortable with adhering to personal boundaries at all times, poor behaviour will not be tolerated.
A telephone vetting and screening interview process will take place and any unsuitable candidates will not be put forward for a face-to-face interview with the Regional Operations Manager.
All site training will be provided prior to deployment.
Job Description:
Purpose of the role: To provide an efficient and professional security service to Consortio Security’s clients as specified, demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism, customer service and integrity. The successful candidate will form part of a two person team controlling the access and egress to the site, monitoring CCTV and conducting vehicle searches as required.
Main Duties:
- Control all access and egress, utilising the equipment and systems provided
- Ensure all visitors to site are cleared through our National Control Centre (NCC) prior to allowing access
- Ensure clients’ staff, property and other assets are always secure
- Site Health and Safety and building well-being checks must be carried out as directed by your Regional Operations Manager
- Answer all enquiries courteously and professionally
- Accurately operate designated alarm systems
- Monitor CCTV footage for protection of property and assets
- Complete the daily log, noting all appropriate activity
- Produce accurate reports as and when needed
- Conduct sufficient internal and external patrols to ensure security of all zones utilizing technical capabilities
- Ensure all procedures, site / Assignment Instructions and protocols are always followed; being particularly diligent when in an emergency
- Always maintain tidy and clean work areas
- Thorough cleaning handover of all areas prior to handover from shift to shift
- Ensuring personal boundaries are always adhered to making sure that the line is never crossed
- Always book on and off your shift utilising the site mobile phone
- Be an effective ambassador for Consortio, always smart and diligent with elevated levels of integrity

Essential Requirements:
- A current SIA Licence – Carried on your person at all times whilst on duty
- Smart appearance, following the Consortio uniform requirements to the letter
