We are looking to recruit an experienced Security Officer to join our team who will contribute towards the continuous delivery of our secure service.

Location: Birmingham

Salary: from £23,605 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours contract – shift cover 24/7

St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 118-bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprising eight units that cover medium and low security for both men and women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, it is easily accessible by road networks and public transport.

The Role

As a key member of the St. Andrew’s security team, your key responsibilities will include maintaining security systems and records. Duties will include key management, processing staff and visitors, managing and responding to all emergency incidents including fire and intruder alarms, and conducting internal and external patrols of the site. This role will have specific responsibility for supporting the female patients in our care.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Working knowledge or experience in the healthcare sector or similar
  • Working knowledge or experience in the security field
  • Good working knowledge of security systems
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility, reliability, and ability to work a 12-hour shift pattern on either days or nights
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to show initiative while adhering to policies and procedures that ensure a safe environment and compliance with secure standards
  • ESSENTIAL: You must hold a Full UK Driving Licence
