JOB TITLE: Security Officer
LOCATION: Corn Exchange, Manchester M4 3TR
SHIFT PATTERN: Wednesday to Sunday, 40 hours per week
PAY RATE: £11.56 per hour
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
The Security Officer will ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site. The role will be the public face of the Security Team and should always act with professionalism. A can-do attitude is essential in this highly influential role.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be an ambassador of the site delivering first class guest focused service each time.
- Work as a team player in meeting guest needs and actively contribute to the efforts of all departments.
- Carry out regular patrols of the centre as detailed in the site assignment Instructions, being always proactive.
- Continuously look for opportunities to be of assistance to visitors at the centre, proactively helping wherever opportunities arise.
- Ensure all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedures.
- Liaise with site control room, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and always supported.
- Understand human behaviour, monitor and surveil suspect individuals, logging and reporting incidents in line with site/company policies.
- Maintain vigilance and highlight/manage unauthorized access by banned individuals.
- Ensure radio procedures are always adhered to.
- Liaise closely with the Environmental Services team, delivering one service and highlighting opportunities in working as one team.
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and workloads.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence in the workplace.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work required.
- Excellent observational skills.
Qualifications:
- Must meet all requirements to receive required SIA badges (if applicable), including successful completion of a background check and 5-year work history. Training will be provided if required.
- For our security officer roles, we require a Door Supervisor or Security Guard badge. We offer upskilling and additional training.
