Here at JOD Group, we are a leading Waste Management Company based in Edmonton, North London. We operate a fleet of HGVs consisting of skips, hook loaders, grabs, tippers, artic, and trailers.
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Security Officer to join our team.
As a Security Officer, you will survey the grounds or buildings that you oversee and monitor any abnormal or suspicious activity. You will guide any potential members of the public by giving directions and perform checks on doors and windows to ensure everything is safe on-site. You must be extremely aware of your surroundings and be prepared to investigate and report anything that seems out of the ordinary or not in compliance with area standards.
As a Security Officer at JOD Group, you will work between 50-60 hours a week and may be expected to work overtime as the job demands. There may be work over the weekends, bank holidays, or additional shifts. Full job specifications and induction will be given according to the site requirements during the first shifts. This is a critical role in ensuring the overall security and protection of our premises.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify any suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Provide assistance to employees, customers, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain order and safety.
- Perform access control duties by verifying identification and granting or denying entry.
- Report any security breaches or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies as needed.
- Conduct investigations into incidents or accidents as required.
- Provide first aid or emergency response as necessary.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or similar role is preferred but not required.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert at all times.
- Knowledge of security operations, procedures, and practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and other security equipment is preferred.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- The ability to work proactively and use intuition.
- A thorough and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent concentration skills.
- The ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings.
- An ability to remain patient and calm under pressure.
- Understanding of the technology used within the company.
