Security Engineering Practice Lead

Position Title: Security Engineering Practice Lead

Location: UK Manchester / Cheltenham / London

Role Purpose:

Lead a team of technically gifted consultants whilst defining, developing and executing a strategy for the practice, based on:

  • Services: Ownership of the services within the practice, including sales support material, sales training, client facing material, delivery methodologies, delivery training, operational guidance for delivery & scheduling, reporting artifacts, tooling, research and development.
  • Growth: Responsible for revenue and profit growth of services contained within the Practice. Achievement of growth targets that are aligned with overall growth that underpins the practice plan.
  • Innovation: Responsible for the development and evolution of services within the Practice. Practice Leads are expected to keep abreast of client needs, industry trends, and technology developments to lead NCC Group towards new areas of working that keep the business at the forefront of cyber trends and support of our Innovation, Insights, and Intelligence directive.
  • Capability: Lead and continue to build and develop a team of consultants with the required training and certifications to be able to deliver to client needs.

The Practice Lead will support globally consistent delivery methodologies, pre-sales support material, tools, and processes that align to NCC Group’s Gated Business Lifecycle (or any subsequent framework) and are suitably adaptable to regional needs.

The role is also responsible for:

  • Raising awareness of the services and proactively promoting them among the Sales community and directly to clients via all channels, and when applicable, co-ordinating marketing campaigns or joint partner promotion activities.
  • Being the point person for new client opportunities and ensuring the right senior consultants own opportunities and develop bespoke proposals that address the client need.
  • Being the overall person responsible for the high-quality delivery of the services to clients by providing the right level of oversight and intervention.
  • Contributing to financial performance and creating strong collaboration with peer functions across the business.

Key Accountabilities:

Leadership – Regional leadership and accountability of financial performance, cross and inter-Practice alignment, stakeholder management, input into the strategy for the Practice, capability function (C&I) and company-wide initiatives.

Collaboration – Build a community of practitioners that are initially connected in region who feed into a global community and proactively seek to collaborate across the business, knowledge share and foster a growth mindset. Active collaboration across other practice areas.

Culture – Role modelling our values and ways of working to drive engagement of a high performing workforce and encourage a thriving work environment.

Delivery – Actively encouraging and enabling client centric delivery using consistent global artifacts such as methodologies, training, tools, and deliverable templates.

Key Clients and Opportunities – Proactive support and ownership of key client relationships and opportunities including presales opportunity development, scoping SOW review and approval, and delivery oversight.

Sales – Working collaboratively with the sales team to deliver client focused solutions. Using insights and market data, plus tools such as collateral, sample/sanitised deliverables, scoping questionnaires, and reference-able customers/case studies.

Resourcing – Using insights and market data, ensure skills are being utilised and developed to support client present and future demand. Horizon scanning to ensure business remains ahead of resourcing requirements. Direct input into project resourcing decisions (scheduling) as required to the global resourcing team.

Marketing & Research – Collaboratively initiate and respond to regional marketing requirements for website content, collateral, blog posts, and external presentations & event attendance. Performed in partnership with Product Management colleagues. Review of Practice-specific research proposals in collaboration with NCC global research organization.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Deep technical and consulting skills with proven track record in professional services.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across a regional organization spanning hundreds of employees and drive positive outcomes.
  • Experience in commercial management.
  • Demonstrated success in the planning and development of relevant professional service offerings, full product lifecycle experience preferred.
