Security Engineering and Automation Manager

Your new company
A NASDAQ-listed semiconductor organisation in the UK are currently looking for a Security Engineering and Automation Manager to join their ranks. The organisation is very well known in their world and offers strong benefits and hybrid working, as well as shares in the company over 4 years.

Your new role
You will be responsible for the identification, development and implementation of all security automation within the Cyber Defence Operations, and wider Enterprise Security teams. You will own the automation of existing security processes and collaborate with other automation engineers to ensure that the business is running as efficiently as possible. Some of the main elements of your role, in the clients' words:

  1. Develop and build the automation, logging, and detection strategy to improve the CDO's efficiency, scalability, and incident response capabilities.
  2. Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows and playbooks to streamline CDO operations, including incident response, threat hunting, cyber threat intelligence and vulnerability management.
  3. Collaborate with CDO analysts to identify repetitive tasks and automate them to improve operational efficiency.
  4. Partner with CDO, IT, and development teams to align automation initiatives with business and security objectives.
  5. Deliver training and mentorship to CDO analysts on automation tools, scripting, and tooling.
  6. Continuously evaluate automation solutions for performance, reliability, and scalability, making improvements as necessary.
What you'll need to succeed
  1. Demonstrated ability in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role in security operations and/or security software development.
  2. Solid understanding of security operations, automation, standard processes, and threat intelligence lifecycle.
  3. Experience with cloud security tools and platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and their integration into SOC operations.
  4. Vendor-specific certifications for SOAR platforms (e.g., Sentinel SOAR, Splunk SOAR, Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR).
  5. Experience running large-scale security automation projects, including planning, execution, and customer communication.
