Job Description

Seeking an experienced Security Cleared (SC) Lead Configuration Engineer preferably within the Defence and Aerospace Sector. You will oversee Configuration & Data Management (C&DM) activities across programme life cycles, ensuring compliance with processes and tools at system, software, modelling, and hardware levels.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Drive proactive C&DM engagement in Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).
  2. Provide direction on C&DM processes, tailoring them to project needs.
  3. Lead and manage C&DM teams to deliver work packages on time and within budget.
  4. Coach, mentor, and train IPT members on C&DM best practices.
  5. Resolve C&DM issues and contribute to business-wide process improvements.
  6. Maintain and control project datasets, ensuring configuration integrity.
  7. Manage customer and supplier relationships effectively.

Essential Skills & Experience

  1. Strong understanding of Configuration Management (DEF STAN 05-57).
  2. Proficiency in key CM elements: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting, and Audit/Verification.
  3. Experience with safety-critical product development.
  4. Practical knowledge of CM2 methodology.
  5. Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management tools (eg, Teamcenter v13, SAP).
  6. Strong administrative skills with high attention to detail and logical thinking.

Additional Requirements

  1. Experience leading Change Control Boards and Configuration Audits.

Due to the nature of the project, the successful candidate will have a valid UK Security Clearance before the start.
