We are currently recruiting for a Legal practice based in Kent who are seeking a Legal Secretary or experienced Secretary within professional services to join their team. This is a well-established practice who we have recruited for previously so we know them well and can recommend them as an employer of choice!
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Trained in Secretarial Practice
Experience using all Microsoft products
Trained to high standard in word processing and audio typing
Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or working in a similar professional environment
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, agents and other third parties
Professional telephone manner
Conversant with the quality standards as required by Lexcel and CQS and to work with the practice manual
Ability to work using own initiative with a high level of self-management
Happy to work in a team environment and sometimes under pressure
Main Responsibilities:
To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing in conjunction with the case management system
To carry out daily functions such as filing, opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the practice manual.
To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary for their Principal and ensure all meetings are booked into a conference room via the reception diary
To provide support to other principals/secretaries as required
To attend to clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm's standards for client care
To ensure principals' time sheets are up to date
To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm's and clients' documentation and information
To provide cover for reception as required
