Long Term Futures is working in collaboration with a large, inclusive secondary school in Hackney to appoint a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant. This role is available for an immediate start and offers a long-term pathway with the potential for permanent employment.


You'll be supporting students across a broad curriculum - with a mix of academic support, behaviour mentoring, and SEND interventions, making this an ideal position for someone with a strong classroom background and a passion for student progress.


What the Role Involves:
  1. Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in a range of subjects, including English, Maths and Science
  2. Delivering 1:1 and small group academic interventions, working closely with class teachers
  3. Supporting students with SEND, including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech & language needs
  4. Assisting in managing low-level disruption and behavioural challenges within the classroom
  5. Tracking pupil progress and contributing to pastoral and academic reviews
  6. Building strong relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and mentor
  7. Working collaboratively with subject teachers, SENCo, and the behaviour team

Candidate Requirements:
  1. Experience working in a UK secondary school setting is essential
  2. Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and behaviour management strategies
  3. Previous experience supporting students with SEND or SEMH needs
  4. Adaptable, confident, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  5. A relevant qualification (e.g., TA Level 2/3, education studies, psychology degree) is desirable
