GSL Education are inviting applications for a committed and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a vibrant secondary school in Romsey, Hampshire. About the Role

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a vital role in assisting teachers, supporting students with their learning needs, and creating an inclusive classroom environment. You will help deliver targeted interventions, encourage positive behaviour, and provide guidance to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities of the Secondary TA:

1. Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated.
2. Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons by helping with classroom preparation and resource development.
3. Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and those requiring additional guidance.
4. Encourage a positive learning environment, reinforcing school policies and promoting student well-being.
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support student progress.
6. Monitor student performance and provide feedback to teaching staff.
7. Supervise students during non-classroom activities such as breaks, lunchtimes, and extracurricular sessions.

Requirements of the Secondary TA:

1. A strong passion for education and student development.
2. Previous experience in a school, tutoring, mentoring, or youth work is advantageous but not essential.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents.
4. A resilient, patient, and supportive approach to working with young learners.
5. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities to support the school community.
6. University students seeking valuable classroom experience are encouraged to apply.
7. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
