Job Title: Secondary English Language Teacher

Job Title: Secondary English Language Teacher
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start: After Easter 2025/September 2025
Contract: Full time, Permanent

GSL Education are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an English Language Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Are you passionate about helping students unlock the power of language and develop their writing skills? Whether you’re an experienced teacher or someone looking to start their teaching journey, this role is ideal for you.

We welcome applications from teachers with QTS, ECTs, and overseas qualifications. Experienced Teaching Assistants (TAs) or Cover Teachers looking to transition into a classroom teaching role are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver English Language lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Plan lessons that help students think critically, improve their writing, and communicate clearly.
  • Support students in improving their reading and writing skills.
  • Create a positive classroom where every student feels encouraged to succeed.
  • Track student progress and give helpful feedback to help them improve.
  • Work with other teachers to plan lessons that are interesting and engaging.
  • Take part in activities outside of the classroom to support student development.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A passion for teaching English Language and inspiring students to develop their skills.
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred but not essential – all levels of experience are encouraged to apply.
  • The ability to work with students of different abilities and help them reach their full potential.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to engage with young learners.
  • A full CV that covers the last 10 years (or your entire work history) with any gaps explained.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
