What does a Cover Supervisor do?

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom when teachers are absent, ensuring lessons continue smoothly. Your role involves:

• Delivering pre-set lesson plans to classes

• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and calmly

• Encouraging and supporting students to stay on task

• Creating a positive, engaging environment

Key Qualities We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people — this could be in a school, sports club, youth group, or similar setting

• A good sense of humour and a positive personality — you’ll connect with students and staff alike

• Confidence in managing behaviour — you’ll lead the classroom with authority and empathy
