Full – Time Secondary Behaviour Support – Totton, Hampshire

GSL Education are offering a full-time Behaviour Support Assistant role at a vibrant secondary school in Totton with working hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm (full-time), Monday to Friday (term-time only). The role is available to start immediately, with an annual salary between £21,500 to £24,500, depending on experience — a meaningful reward for a truly meaningful role.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
2. Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support strategies and action plans.
3. Help create a positive learning environment where every student feels seen, supported, and encouraged.
4. Support students in developing emotional resilience and making positive behavioural choices.
5. Foster trust and build strong, professional relationships with students to aid their academic and personal growth.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience in behaviour support or related roles such as youth work, social care, or pastoral support.
2. A calm, confident, and empathetic communicator with a passion for supporting young people.
3. Someone resilient, patient, and adaptable with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
5. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
