Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support professional to join a secondary school in Havant. Full – Time Secondary Behaviour Support – Havant, Hampshire

Do you have the resilience and passion to support young people as they overcome behavioural challenges and reach their full potential?

If so, GSL Education are on the lookout for a compassionate Behaviour Support to join a secondary school in Havant. This full-time, term-time-only role (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm) offers a rewarding opportunity with a competitive pay between £21,500 – £24,500 per annum to support students in managing behaviour and achieving personal and academic growth. The successful candidate will begin immediately, with the potential to make a lasting impact on young lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural needs, helping them engage positively with their learning.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and other professionals to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students.
  • Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and daily behaviour monitoring.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to promote emotional resilience and social development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a similar role or transferable skills from youth work, social work, or pastoral care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and build trusting relationships with students.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with diverse needs.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
