  • Basic IT skills and experience in menu planning are essential.

Job description

As aSecond ChefwithSodexo atWavell Combined MessinAldershot,your culinary expertiseand organisational excellence will lead an entire food and beverage production. You'll be providing this service forour armed forces personnel, improving their quality of lifeevery day!

What you’ll do:


Lead the kitchen in the absence of your senior colleagues& provide supportfor the production team
Direct the preparation/dutiesto the commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen staff.
Assisting/sharing in ordering, prep, stock control, and running service & cleandown.
Ensuring strict adherence to all EHO guidelines and systems
improvisationand maximisethe use of existing stocks where necessary.
Working with the FOH team to drive the service excellence
Work on the range with the kitchen team to train, guide & develop
Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
Prepare, produce and present food to the highest standard


What you bring:


NVQ lv 2/3 or experienceworking in a busy kitchen environment
Basic IT skills, with Microsoft packages experience
Experience in menu planning and production
Exposure to bulk cooking
The enthusiasm to develop and learn new skills.
A positive and approachable manner
If you have experience in the above but don't hold experience as a 'sous chef,' we would still love to hear from you

Monday to Thursday: 06.00-14.30and 12.30-21.00
Friday06.00-14.30and10.30-19.00
Saturday and Sunday: 08.30-19.00
£13.82 per hour
