Job Title: Scrum Master – Credit Risk Technology

Location: London

Corporate Title: Vice President

As a Scrum Master, you will operate as a change agent with a passion for working with people and squads to help them deliver their best work. You will facilitate the key ceremonies, support the squads, and ensure the delivery roadmap and product backlog are well maintained, understood, and actively used by the squads.

You will influence, coach, and enable the squads. Your responsibilities will include proactively removing impediments to squads’ success, establishing an environment where the squads can be effective, and protecting the squads from outside interruptions and distractions.

As a member of the continuous improvement chapter, you will champion and drive doing the right thing, ensuring that the squads live the agile values, apply agile principles, and follow agreed processes and practices. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to driving improvements through the chapter initiatives.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Mentoring and coaching squad members.
  • Supporting the tribe mission and the context including strategic targets, delivery targets, structure, agile framework(s), constraints, team dynamics, mindsets, human nature, and technical considerations.
  • Fostering and modelling a culture of continuous improvement, collaborative environment, and advocating self-organisation.
  • Collaborating with the product owners and squads to ensure a healthy prioritised product backlog is maintained for your squads.
  • Facilitating squad ceremonies through a clear understanding of the aim of each ceremony, taking corrective measures as required to ensure they are effective.
  • Working with the tribe scrum master to help the squads continuously improve the effectiveness of their incremental delivery of value to clients & stakeholders by monitoring metrics including velocity, objectives & key results (OKRs) and tribe health while at the same time identifying inefficiencies in operation and removing impediments to the tribe's progress.

Your skills and experience:

  • Financial industry experience or large corporate environment and a strong understanding of the Scrum Master role.
  • Experienced in agile techniques with past success in supporting agile teams/squads.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, comfortable offering guidance and leadership, both individually and at squad levels.
  • Structured and inclusive problem-solving including identification and removal of impediments to squad delivery.
  • Passionate about coaching and supporting people to embrace changes to their way of working and a continuous improvement mindset and dedication to finding new, more effective ways of working.
  • Emotionally intelligent, calm, open-minded, and collaborative with strong people management skills: motivating, observing, coaching, and mentoring of colleagues.
