Job description

Are you a newly qualified or experienced SCPHN School Health Nurse looking to work as part of a new team delivering high quality care, to children aged from 0-19yrs, in line with the Healthy Child Programme?

We have two posts 30 hours and 22.5 hours based in City South Locality covering central Oxford based at East Oxford Health Centre.

We are looking to recruit motivated practitioners with initiative and drive to join our friendly and enthusiastic team and contribute to the further development of our service and improving outcomes for our children, young people and families.

We are able to offer this part time, term time role, with a complete training package and a preceptorship programme.

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

Main duties of the job

The role will include working in primary and secondary schools, health centres and the client's home, providing public health related care to support in areas such as safeguarding, emotional health, sexual health and physical health, alongside supporting schools to deliver personal, health and social education, and managing medical conditions in schools.

Person Specification

Qualifications - academic/professional

  • First Level Registered Nurse.
  • Specialist Community Public Health or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Nurse prescriber V100 module or equivalent (or prepared to obtain qualification within 2 years).
  • Practice assessor/supervisor.

Knowledge Requirement

  • Evidence of current requirements knowledge of National and Local policies and relevant research and the ability to relate it to practice.
  • Demonstrates IT knowledge and skills.

Further training or job-related aptitude and skills

  • Excellent communicator with a high level of interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Clinical Supervisor.
  • Sexual Health qualification or experience.

Experience

  • Experience of inter-agency working.
  • A caring and compassionate attitude about the health and wellbeing of children, families, and communities, based on dignity, empathy and respect for the rights and needs of others.

£37,338 to £44,962 a year per annum | pro rata - Term Time Only Contract
