Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed Science Tutors to join our team for the upcoming academic year. As a Science Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering tailored, one-on-one, and small group tutoring sessions to students within your specialist age and learning level. Your role will involve:

  1. Supporting students from various schools and local authorities, both in-person and online.
  2. Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that meet the specific needs and learning styles of each student.
  3. Providing additional support to students with SEN or EHCPs, ensuring that your teaching strategies are inclusive and effective.
  4. Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
  5. Collaborating with teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education.
  6. Motivating and inspiring students to achieve their full potential and develop a love for the Sciences.

Requirements:

  1. Strong knowledge of the UK Science curriculum, whether specialist (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or general.
  2. Some experience working with students who have SEN and/or EHCPs.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
  5. Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
