Science Teacher - Coventry - ASAP

** Location: Coventry

** School: Secondary School

** Subject Specialism: General Science

** Start: ASAP

** Hours: Full-time

** Contract: Long Term

** Pay rate: £150-£260

Twenty4Seven Education is seeking a full-time qualified, experimental and enthusiastic Teacher to teach General Science in a forward-thinking 'Good' Ofsted-rated Secondary School in Coventry. This exciting new long-term role is to start ASAP teaching Science to KS3 and KS4 pupils (Physics, Chemistry or Biology to KS5 pupil is desirable).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Have regard for the need to safeguard pupils' well-being following statutory provisions
  2. Plan and deliver a broad, balanced and relevant Science curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of all students in line with the National Curriculum
  3. Set high standards that inspire and motivate learners, ensuring they reach their potential
  4. Assess, record, and report on student progress while maintaining accurate records
  5. Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment following the school's behaviour policy
  6. Deploy any support staff effectively
  7. Take responsibility for improving teaching through appropriate professional development, responding to advice and feedback from colleagues
  8. Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals about pupils' achievements and well-being

Must have:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  2. Right to work in the UK
  3. Satisfactory references covering the last 2 years
  4. Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Workforce) on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process)
  5. Experience teaching within an educational setting or similar
  6. Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum
  7. Excellent Science subject knowledge
  8. Read the DfE 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' (2024) document
  9. Excellent classroom management
  10. Good Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills
