Job description

Smile education are recruiting for an SEN teacher with SEN experience to work in a school to teach Science for 3 days a week, Wednesday to Friday. The role would be working at a school with a tight knit staff team and SLT support.

The role would be long term and part time, ongoing role with potential to become permanent.

The responsibilities of the SEN Teacher role:

  • Plan and deliver captivating core subject lessons to students in line with the curriculum.
  • Focus on creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that helps student engagement and critical thinking.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, offer constructive feedback and nurture a love for learning.
  • Be able to structure lesson plans for different levels of student needs.

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, science or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or QTS.
  • Proficiency in the secondary curriculum and effective instructional techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience or the desire to work within an SEN setting.
