ARE YOU A QUALIFIED SCIENCE TEACHER WITH EXPERIENCE TEACHING IN UK SECONDARY SCHOOLS?

Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading education agency, is working in close partnership with an outstanding school in Coventry to appoint a qualified and passionate Science teacher on a full-time basis.

The school is renowned for excellent pupil behaviour, positive academic results, and a strong collaborative ethic.

Hours: Full Time, term time only

Location: Coventry, CV6

Pay: To scale for long-term positions (day-to-day rates may vary)

Start Date: ASAP

We are ideally looking for someone who possesses the below traits and experiences:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Science
  2. PGCE successfully completed
  3. Experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in a UK secondary school
  4. Subject specialism in one of the main science subjects
  5. Experience and confidence with planning and marking
  6. Ability to teach up to and including A-Level (desirable but not essential)
  7. Confident behaviour management techniques and a strong classroom presence
  8. Demonstrate a strong subject knowledge and understanding of the UK national curriculum for secondary science
  9. Excellent school-based references
  10. Ability to commit to a full-time position ASAP
  11. Enhanced, child-only DBS (on the update service), or be willing to obtain one

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  1. Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons catering to a range of year groups and abilities
  2. Differentiating each lesson to suit the individual needs within your classes
  3. Ensuring the best academic outcomes for Year 7 to Year 13 pupils in science
  4. Collaborating successfully with colleagues within the department to ensure it is a high-performing subject within the school
  5. Communicating effectively with staff and pupils alike, creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  6. Promoting equal opportunities and ensuring every student is able to thrive
  7. Assessing pupils' progress in a timely manner on a regular basis and providing them with both written and verbal feedback conducive to their learning
  8. Contributing to the wider school community through active engagement with extracurricular activities, parents' evenings, etc.
