Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our educational team. The School Nurse will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students by providing nursing care, developing care plans, and ensuring a safe environment for all. This position requires strong communication skills, effective leadership, and excellent time management abilities to manage the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities

1. Provide direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health conditions.
2. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for students.
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
4. Monitor student health trends and report any concerns to appropriate staff members.
5. Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
6. Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school policies.
7. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to create a safe and supportive school environment.
8. Lead health screenings and immunisation programmes as required.
9. Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.

Qualifications

1. Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with valid nursing licence.
2. Previous experience in a school or paediatric nursing setting is preferred but not essential.
3. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
4. Proven ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual student needs.
5. Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing health-related initiatives within the school setting.
6. Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
7. A commitment to promoting the physical and emotional well-being of all students.
