Fantastic new opportunity! School Finance Manager, £50k-£60k, Lewisham.
We are delighted to be partnering with a superb school who are looking for their new School Finance Manager. The School Finance Manager will join the leadership team, having responsibility for the finance and accounting systems and processes, working closely with the Headteacher to prepare and manage the school's budget, oversee internal controls, and submit mandatory returns to the ESFA.
School Finance Manager Duties Include:
The School Finance Manager will lead the production of monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income and expenditure, and cash flow statements.
Manage a small central team and work closely with School Business Leaders to provide consistent financial information to all schools.
Collaborate with the Trust's Finance Director to design and implement new financial systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining strong internal controls.
Act as an extended part of the schools' Senior Leadership Teams, providing high-level support to their back-office functions.
Support schools in setting reliable and realistic budgets based on consistent planning assumptions.
Monitor and deliver corrective actions when necessary to ensure budget adherence.
School Finance Manager requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in financial management, including the production of financial statements.
Strong knowledge of financial systems and processes, with the ability to implement improvements.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Sound understanding of budgeting and financial planning.
